The new TEROSON® FO 2 FR offers you everything you would expect from a high-tech sealing strip made by Henkel. It is not only highly vapor-permeable and sound-insulating, but also ensures the fast, easy and cost-effective handling that you’ve become accustomed to. In addition, it now provides fire protection – the maximum of what is technically feasible today. Naturally, it is an integral part of a whole sealing system and teams up with the perfectly matched adhesive paste AD KDS FR.
Clean the substrate before fixing the sealing strip. The areas to be sealed must be load-bearing, sound and free from dust, release agents, oil, grease, sintered layers and other substances that may impair adhesion. All metal substrates, e.g. element surfaces of aluminium or zinc, must be free of oxide layers and release agents.
On mineral, weakly bound but load-bearing substrates it is recommended to apply a TEROSON primer. At low temperatures and damp substrates, TEROSON PR Primer M+S is well suited for this purpose.
The sealing strip is bonded to both the building structure and to the frame/profile, using TEROSON AD KDS FR. Apply strands of TEROSON AD KDS FR to the substrate using either a manual or a compressed air gun). Afterwards, press the sealing strip into the adhesive paste while it is still fresh and skin-free. Roll the strip over with apressure roller.
Yes, the product was also tested on aluminum in conjunction with the system adhesive TEROSON AD KDS FR in addition to mineral substrates. The classification B-s2, d0 (hardly flammable) applies to the end use case, "glued to metal substrates and solid mineral substrates.",i.e. the usual sealing of a structure connection, without gaps.
We recommend a TEROSON primer for mineral, weakly bound but stable substrates. In adverse weather conditions, it is always necessary to use an adhesion promoter on mineral substrates.
The adhesive width for the frame profile is 20-30mm, this is already specified by the self-adhesive strip of the respective sealing foil. The adhesive width varies from 30-50 mm depending on the structure of the product, the current technical data sheet for the product is decisive.Note: Depending on the project, the adhesive width can be increased on smooth, clean and stable substrates after consultation with the TEROSON facade expert. Also be lower.
Overlapping film joints are glued on top of each other with a width of approx. 50 mm.An additional mechanical fastening of the TEROSON sealing foils is generally not required.
